I have been cooking for a week now, trying new recipes and such. Today I made Chocolaty Chips for a snack. I gotta tell you, it’s hard finding recipes, shopping for the ingredients AND cooking new things every day! Not sure how long this will last after week one. I now have a greater respect for ANY food blogger, and for Julie Powell from the Julie and Julia movie I mentioned when I started this 365 Easy Recipes self challenge.
I used Nestles Morsels in my recipe today (my fave) and Cape Cod Kettle Cooked Chips which are all natural! This recipe was taken from Taste of Home Magazine. I altered it not one bit! Of course, there really wasn’t much to alter. 🙂 Now for the recipe!
Chocolaty Chips
Melt 1/2 cups semisweet chocolate chips and a teaspoon of shortening (I used Crisco) in the microwave and stir until smooth. spread 3 cups crunchy kettle-cooked potato chips over a parchment-or waxed paper-lined baking sheet, then drizzle the melted chocolate evenly over the chips. Refrigerate 5 minutes or until the chocolate sets, then pop in a movie and enjoy!
