It would appear that I took a vacation. I suppose I did, but only due to the fact that I haven’t made the time to sit down and blog. I’ve been busy. Tis the season.
I have had a few people ask me why I haven’t blogged lately. I just put my fingers in my ears and hum a Christmas tune…very loudly, so as not to hear them. I know! I know! I haven’t written in a while.
So much going on. The shopping is done. The gifts are wrapped. The wreath is finished. Did I mention I made a wreath? I got the idea from another blog The Answer is Chocolate, I think. I can’t seem to find it now. I tweaked it a little and came up with this:
It was hours and hours of cutting and paper punching, and tons of hot glue but I finished and am pleasantly pleased with the result.
A few weeks ago a friend invited me to an event at her church for women. It was a gift exchange of sorts and fun in a Black Friday sort of way. Every lady who attended brought six gifts each the same. We were divided into groups. When your group was called, you went into the room where all the gifts were displayed and selected one item within a 30 second period. We did this six different times. Each woman went home with six gifts.
A lot of items were crafts and homemade things. One such thing was this:
A card was attached and this is what it said.
This is the Christmas Nail. It is to be hung on a branch that will hold such a spike without being noticed by well-wishers dropping by to admire one’s tinseled tree. The nail is understood only by the heart that knows its signifiance. It is a reminder that…The Christmas tree but foreshadows the Christ-tree which only He could decorate for us, ornamented with nails as this.
Unlike the nail, which is tucked away as a private reminder, may Christ’s light in you be evident to all this Christmas season.
And now I am off to the malls. The ensemble my sons are in will be preforming shortly.
Until the next chunk of free time…
gosh! it’s lovely.
Happy shopping to you 🙂
