Have you ever read the 12 Steps from Alcoholics Anonymous? Good stuff to be found there.
For instance, number one states:
Admitted we are powerless over alcohol and our lives have become unmanageable.
That can pretty much sum up a lot of out-of-control behaviors in our lives.
Powerless over other peoples actions.
Powerless over the economy.
Powerless over the anger of another person.
Powerless over the bad choices our adult child is making.
Powerless over the neighbors.
Powerless over our love/hate relationship with food.
I could go on.
We are powerless. We need a higher power.
I have one.
I sometimes forget that fact and take matters into my own hands.
I need to remind myself daily that yesterday is gone. I can’t change a thing about it. Tomorrow, well, there are no guarantees, so another waste of time. Stay in the present. One day at a time. It sounds so cliché, but it is such sound advice.
Choices. They are ours to make; right or wrong, good or bad.
Today I will seek guidance in making right choices for my life.
I hope you do too.
Beautiful. I will join you, my friend. I love this SO much… 🙂 More more more!!! XOXOXO
You crack me up Chris! There’s a ton more where that came from 🙂
