Day 16 of 40 Days of Lent
They were just ordinary men, living ordinary lives, the twelve disciples that Jesus chose to walk the journey with Him.
They were mostly fishermen, a common, honest trade in those days. An accountant, a scholar and even a tax collector. None of them perfect, but all of them chosen. Even Judas, the one who would betray Him.
So why do we think we have to be perfect? Why do we think we’re not good enough for God to want us?
Here’s the deal…
We don’t have to be perfect. We don’t have to be special or talented or rich. We just have to be willing. Willing to bring our sorrows, our pains, our hopes and joy. We have to be willing to come just as we are, and follow Him.
He will never leave us. He will journey with us, through our ordinary lives. And when we are weak, He is strong.
Come as you are.
He chooses you now, just like He chose His twelve disciples.
Luke 6:13- And when day came, He called His disciples and chose from them twelve whom He named apostles.
