Day 4 of 40 Days of Lent

Do you ever feel like you don’t measure up? Like you’re just not enough? Is the outward greater than the inward in your world?

Not in God’s.

Lent, Easter, 40 Days of Lent, Southeast Christian Church

On Day 4 of 40 Days of Lent I wrote:

It always amazes me, this God who looks beyond what we do, who we are, or even who we think we are, and sees our hearts-our true selves.

Who does that?

Perhaps that’s the greatest reason Christians are so looked down on in our modern-day era. Christians are considered judgmental, as a whole. We don’t know how to look beyond the deeds and see the person as someone who is worthy enough that God sent His only Son.

He looks at the heart.

Can we?

Dare we?

That’s the verse of the day, John 3:16: For God so loved the world, that He gave His only Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life.

The challenge today is simple: Consider what Jesus says He can do; bring light, make us clean, and give us new life. All He asks of us is to turn to Him.

Is that a difficult thing for you?

Tell me what you think.
