Quotes and the Serenity Prayer

We’ve all heard the serenity prayer, right? I ran across a copy last week and it had extra verses. I did a Google search to see if this was legit, but I came up with nothing. I did run across some more quotes by Reinhold Niebuhr, the author of the prayer, and I have chosen a few to include.

God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change,
Courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference.

Living one day at a time;
Enjoying one monent at a time;
Accepting hardship as the pathway to peace.

Taking, as He did, this sinful world as it is, not as I would have it;

Trusting that He will make all things right if I surrender to His will;

That I may be reasonably happy in this life,
And supremely happy with Him forever in the next.

Although, after doing a little research on Reinhold, I definitely don not agree with his theology as a whole, I can appreciate the reasons for his beliefs, and some of his quotes.

Forgiveness is the final form of love.
