40 Days of Lent Day 2
So I’m a little behind in posting my 40 Days of Lent. Better late than never!
A Great Promise: The next day, Jesus decided to go to Galilee. He found Philip and said to him, “Follow me.”
Follow Me. Such a small insignificant statement. Such a simple invitation. Just two words. How could Philip remotely fathom what those two words meant and how much they would impact his life if he accepted the invitation?
How can we?
That’s where the rubber meets the road. In a world that shakes their heads in pity at those “simple-minded” people who belief such a fable, faith has to be alive and active. More importantly, so does community.
The question on Day 2: What can you put aside today to experience life in the footsteps of Jesus?
This is a little of what I wrote: Pride! Today I put aside pride as I gratefully accept that Jesus has put me exactly where I need to be, even as I wonder if perhaps I jumped the gun…again?
God put it all together. I put aside my pride in knowing I am where I am supposed to be, humbly vacuuming steps for all to see.
How about you, dear reader? What can you put aside today?
I would love to hear.
