So here’s the deal. I’ve been toying with the idea of going back to school. Today I went to the university for my placement assessment test. I did well in grammar, not bad in reading comprehension and “eh” in math. It was a bit stressful, not gonna lie. Plus I’m like way older than, oh, 99% of the students there. Way older.
When I was finished, I had a meeting with my AO (Admissions Officer) and someone from Financial Planning. She was excited about meeting me, or so she said. They were impressed with my interview from the first meeting and the second too, I suppose. They were also impressed with my test scores. Not necessarily because they were outstanding, but good for being out of the school loop for so long. I was surprised, to say the least.
Then I was hit with the shocker. I was offered a full scholarship into the “Presidential Priority Mid-Quarter Program” including books! Wow! I will be attending classes Monday through Thursday, from 9 to 2, for five weeks, for 8 credit hours. What an unexpected gift that was! The kicker is…I start August 1…in twelve days. Wow again. In twelve short days I will again, after so many years, be a college student.
Decisions to make about my business, phones calls to be made, dinner out with my husband to discuss some upcoming, important appointments that I won’t be able to make now…so maybe he can take off and attend… That was pretty much my day. A good day. In fact, I can’t remember when I had a day so full of hope, a bit of excitment, nervousness and something else I can’t quite put my finger on…
Catch me again in a few weeks and we’ll see where I am at that point.
Amazing moment for you. Yes, you can do anything you set your mind to do. The door is open, the path is clear.
WOW!!! Another upside-down MOM moment!!! <<3><
Good for you. What a wonderful news and a bonus too for getting the scholarship
P/s…study is study but make sure you have enough rest too ya.
